Formal swim lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by 88%. Learning to swim is essential for safety, as drowning is the leading cause of death for children under four years old. Nearly half of all adults also can't swim, putting them at risk. Florida was ranked the highest in the U.S. for unintentional drowning death rate.
At Geneva Swim Club, we offer high-quality swim lessons to help children and adults develop essential swimming skills, build confidence, and enjoy water activities safely. Swimming is not an instinctive skill for humans. We can not survive in water unless we are taught how to swim.

Mom and Tot Lessons: If your child is under 18 months mom and tot and you are still interested in lessons, we offer mom and tot classes. They are designed with young children's developmental capabilities in mind. Starting at 6 months, these sessions focus on gently acclimating toddlers to the water, fostering a sense of comfort and enjoyment. By introducing water activities in a supportive group setting, we help little ones develop essential skills and build confidence alongside their parents. Join us to create fun, positive early experiences in the water for your child!
There is no universal swim program; our approach is uniquely tailored to meet each student's specific needs.
A student's progress is influenced by their motivation, attitude, level of fear, and confidence. While some students may adapt to the water quickly, others might be more cautious—both reactions are completely normal. Learning a new skill can sometimes be challenging and frustrating, so it's important to remain patient. The key is not to compare one student's progress with another's. Every student is different, and our instructors aim to encourage them while respecting their individual learning pace.
Please inquire and send us a message! Group lessons are done on a case by case basis. Group lessons often lack the individualized attention that private lessons provide. At Geneva Swim Club, we prefer private lessons because they allow us to tailor each session to the student's unique needs and abilities, ensuring more effective and personalized instruction. This approach helps students progress at their own pace and achieve better outcomes.
We suggest continuing lessons until you are confident in your or your child’s swimming abilities. More lessons will help your child become a stronger and safer swimmer. Each child learns at their own pace, but typically, a three-year-old with little fear of the water needs 12-18 lessons to learn how to swim. Younger children or those with a fear of the water tend to require more time.
Adults tend to require less lessons than children when learning to swim.
No problem! You don’t need your own pool for swim lessons. You can use a friend’s or family member’s pool, and some residential complexes may allow you to use their facilities. Additionally, we have a location near Gandy Bridge where you can take lessons.
Our goal here at Geneva Swim Club is to have you or your children swimming as soon and safely as possible.
